Today, Tuesday Jan 13th, there is a special election in the State House for the vacant 139th State House Seat. Democrat Larry Pemberton Jr. faces Republican Brandon Sabbag.

This district was left vacant due to the death of Incumbent State Rep. Kevin Ryan in November. The district leans towards the Democratic Party, but is expected to competitive tonight.

Democrats ended the year on a high, flipping 29 towns in November’s local elections from Red to Blue. Welcomed news after Republicans made gains in multiple towns nationally in 2024.

Tonight, there is one special election for CT State House District 113. This special election will fill the vacancy left by the winner of the Feb 25th special election for the 21st State Senate district won by former Rep. Jason Perillo (R-Shelton).
